“Ethiopian Airlines to service its daily flight to Johannesburg with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner"

The flight departs from Addis Ababa, which is established as the hub of Ethiopian Airlines. The replacement of the aircraft for the route took place on the 7th of December. The management has expressed its interests for providing the highest possible efforts of comfort and luxury for the players as well as spectators of the Africa Cup of Nations travelling with the air carrier.
The Africa Cup of Nations is a football tournament among countries within the continent, and is organized once every two years. The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted in South Africa, and will involve competition between national teams from 16 countries. 5 different stadiums are scheduled to be the venues for the football matches, which are located in Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Rustenburg and Nelspruit respectively.
The Boeing 787 is the hallmark of comfortable air travel for passengers under the current airline standards. The aircraft provides increased spacing in its cabins, larger windows and higher noise suppression for smooth and undisturbed journeys during its flights.
Ethiopian Airlines became the first commercial carrier in Africa to obtain the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, according to reports published by Ethiosports Magazine (http://www.ethiosports.com/2012/12/05/ethiopian-airlines-now-operating-four-787s-from-addis-ababa/). The airline inducted a total of 14 airliners in its entire fleet this year, bringing its total number of aircraft to 55. Out of these 14 airplanes, 4 have been Boeing 787s. Departing from the airline hub of Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, the 787s are currently being utilised for long-haul routes, reaching out to Washington Dulles Airport, New Delhi and Frankfurt.
TravelhouseUK provides online bookings charging lower airfares for passengers from the United Kingdom. The agency is available for accessing most of the network spread over Africa, the Middle East and even the Far East under Ethiopian Airlines. TravelhouseUK books flights to Johannesburg under Ethiopian Airlines. Apart from Johannesburg, the airline also operates flights to Bangkok, Lubumbashi, Harare, Abidjan and Cairo, all of which are available for booking by contacting travel agents of TravelhouseUK.
“Regional air carriers should step in to play an active role whenever a mega-event of international scale is about to take place” said Victor Hunt, the operations manager at TravelhouseUK. “It leads to assurance for adequate arrangement of flying to the host nation, as the airlines set flight timings and bookings suitable for attending the matches of the tournament”.
“Johannesburg should be kept on priority, as it is located in the middle of the rest of the 4 cities hosting the matches. Secondly, Johannesburg will also be hosting the opening and concluding ceremonies of the Africa Cup of Nations”.
