Air Canada and South African Airways (SAA) have signed a new code
share agreement to offer customers “seamless” travel between Canada and
South Africa.
Effective 13 December 2013, SAA will code share on Air Canada services between London and Vancouver, Toronto and New York’s John F Kennedy, while Air Canada will in turn code share on SAA flights between London and Johannesburg, New York and Cape Town.
Offering customers connecting between the airlines in either London or New York the option to fly on a single itinerary, South African Airways acting general manager commercial Manoj Papa said travellers would “greatly benefit” from the agreement and the resulting “travel choices”.
In addition to a single itinerary, with both carriers belonging to the Star Alliance, travellers can also benefit from reciprocal loyalty accumulation and redemption.
